Welcome!

We are sure you will find a sense of community in our villages here. Many activities in our parish centre on the two churches and the three village halls. Here are just a few of the special services and events that have been planned for 2015.

The Annual Flower Festival in St Mary’s Ide Hill was held at the end of May over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.  The theme chosen for the arrangements this year was Fairy Tales and it really was a memorable event with some beautiful arrangements featuring many familiar stories.

On Sunday 26th June, the Sundridge Church Fete will be held in the beautiful gardens of Bishop’s Mead.  This is always a really popular event with, fun and games, activities, gifts, plants, cakes and flowers plus a wonderful Classic Car Rally!

In July The Friends of St Mary’s Sundridge are planning another of their very popular Jazz Evenings – helping to raise valuable funds for the fabric of the church. In September they have organised a John Rutter Sing Day which should be an amazing occasion.  We continue to appreciate all the events organised by the Friends which are always so varied and interesting.
The Friends of Kent Churches Bike Ride in September is always well supported.  Thanks go to the valiant bike riders and all those who help to keep the churches open through the day.  Half of these funds come back to the parish from this really worthwhile charity.
We usually hold an Autumn Bazaar in Ide Hill Village Hall with delicious lunches and stalls galore with something for everyone.
Our ever-popular Christingle Service is usually held in St Mary’s Sundridge in early December.

Early December means that we can look forward to the much-loved Christingle Service in Sundridge before getting into the full swing of Carol Services, tree decorating, the Toy Service and all the other special preparations for Christmas. At noon on 1st January 2000 the bells of St Mary’s Sundridge Rang in the Millennium and this celebration with mulled wine and mince pie has continued on New Year’s Day every year ever since.

Although January-March is often rather quiet the activities in the parish continue with Lent Bible study, Mothering Sunday and preparations for Easter.
